ROAD TO MACON, STARTS AT HOME

The road that both Calvary Basketball Teams will attempt to take to Macon, will begin this Saturday at home vs. both Girl's and Boy's teams from Turner County in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs.  Both Calvary teams will be coming off tough defeats in the Region 3-A Championship games.  The girl's taken out by an underrated and still undefeated Lady Bulldog team from ECI, will look to rebound against the # 3 seed from Region  2 the Lady Rebels.  The Lady Rebels will not be a easy task, they boast an impressive 20-5 record overall and went 10-2 in Region 2, before falling in the semi-finals of their region tournament to eventual Region 2-A Champ Taylor County 49-52. The Rebels will head into the game averaging 54 points on the offensive end while only giving up 34 points  a contest.

In the night cap, the Cavaliers will regroup after falling to Claxton with seconds to go in the Region 3-A Championship.  Their task will not be easy either, the Varsity Rebels of Turner County finished the regular season with a 17-10 overall record while going 9-3 in Region 2-A. The Rebels fell to Greenville 59-69 in the Semi-finals.  The Rebels have experience in the Playoffs after falling in the State Championship game last year to Whitfield Academy.

Game times will be Girl's at 4:00 p.m. and the boy's tip at 5:30 or 15 minutes following the girl's.  Admission for the Double Header will be $10 set by the GHSA.  Only GHSA and Georgia Officials Association passes will be accepted at the game.
